It’s very hard to find a Chinese (or Japanese) input method which supports Azerty keyboards.
By default most of the input methods use a Qwerty layout, in fact I couldn’t find a single one
which supports Azerty out of the box. It’s strange that even Google doesn’t support us.

While there is no option to select the keyboard layout in the Google IME,
it’s possible to manually change the layout to Azerty. The procedure is more or less
the same for all versions of Windows. (Windows 2000 and up that is).

If you don’t have Google IME, you can download it right here: http://www.google.com/ime

After you installed it, you’ll have to open a tool called “RegEdit”.
Press and hold the “Windows” key and press the “R” key. A new window will open:

Enter “regedit” and press “Enter” or click “OK”.
You will see a window similar to this one:

 
In the left column, look for the folder (key) called “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and open it.
Find the key called “SYSTEM” and open it.
Find the key called “CurrentControlSet” and guess what.. open it.
Find the key called “Control” and open it.
Find the key called “Keyboard Layouts” and… open it.

There are a lot of sub keys in the “Keyboard Layout” key, but if you scroll down
you’ll eventually find one that starts with the letter “E”. If there are more than one you will
have to select them one by one until you find the one that contains “GOOGLEPINYIN2.IME”.

In the right column, double click on the “Layout File” item, a new window will open and you
will be able to change the value. Change it to “kbdbe.dll”:

Click ok and verify the change has been saved:

You can now close RegEdit and restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
The next time you use Google IME it will use the Azerty keyboard layout.
